Arificial Intelligence in Oncology: what will the future look like
Alexander T. Pearson
I am a quantitative scientist, medical oncologist, and co-director of the head/neck cancer program at the University of Chicago. My training included an MD as well as a PhD in statistics from the University of Rochester, and clinical residency and fellowship with postdoctoral studies in applied mathematics and cancer stem cell biology at the University of Michigan. My laboratory at the University of Chicago has a combined focus on integrating cancer biology techniques into mathematical modeling frameworks as well as developing artificial intelligence and machine learning-based cancer biomarkers. My goal as a practicing physician is to maintain a cutting-edge, data-driven, research-intensive clinical practice with clinical trial protocols evaluating scientific questions across the full natural history of head/neck cancers.
