This
year, authors from presented ASCO posters were invited to present their poster
at the Post-ASCO meeting. The prize for best poster has been awarded to Prof.
Bart Neyns (UZ Brussel), with the poster titled: A phase I clinical trial on
the combined intravenous (IV) and intradermal (ID) administration of autologous
TriMix-DC cellular therapy in patients with pretreated melanoma (TriMixIDIV)
The slides of the 2011
presentations are available now.
The meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is the major
annual international meeting, which provides an opportunity for the discussion
of critical issues in the field of Oncology. Educational sessions cover
state-of-the art treatment procedures and scientific and poster sessions offer a
forum for a large number of high quality studies. Information is presented
on promising experimental therapeutics. New strategies and old assumptions are
discussed.
Unfortunately not all clinicians and researchers interested in Oncology are
able to attend the ASCO meeting. And even those attending cannot always join all
sessions of their interest.
For that reason we started the Post-ASCO meetings for Belgium and Luxembourg
in 1998.
The meeting is only 2-4 weeks after the ASCO meeting. Every year experts are
invited to summarize the new data from ASCO and put them in perspective for the
audience.
